Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is set to arrive in theaters January 27, 2017 and since trailers for trailers are the new norm, check out a first look below thanks to a brief trailer announcement.
The Resident Evil cast includes Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter (“Heroes,” Resident Evil: Afterlife) as Claire Redfield, Iain Glen (“Game of Thrones,” Resident Evil: Extinction) in the role of Dr. Alexander Isaacs, Shawn Roberts ( Edge of Darkness, Resident Evil: Afterlife) as Albert Wesker, Australian actress Ruby Rose (“Orange Is the New Black”) as Abigail, Eoin Macken (“The Night Shift”) as Doc, Cuban American actor William Levy as Christian, Fraser James (“Law & Order: UK”) as Michael, and Japanese model and TV personality, Rola, as Cobalt. Based on Capcom’s hugely popular video game series comes the final installment in the most successful video game film franchise ever, which has grossed over $1 billion worldwide to date. Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, Alice (Milla Jovovich) is the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead.
Now, she must return to where the nightmare began – The Hive in Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse. Is produced by Jeremy Bolt, Paul W.S. Anderson, Robert Kulzer and Samuel Hadida.
Martin Moszkowicz (Constantin Film) is the executive producer together with Victor Hadida (Metropolitan Films). Will be distributed in the U.S. By Screen Gems in January 27, 2017.
Earlier today we saw for the next addition to Screen Gems’ Underworld series. The studio has now released a trailer for another entry in their Resident Evil franchise. The 14-year-old series may finally come to a close with Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, but we’ll have to wait and see if it has a real ending, not some winky setup for another installment. The previous Resident Evil film ended with a tease of a battle at the White House, but that’s not the story of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. Anderson‘s film begins there, but we won’t see much of Alice ( Milla Jovovich) in the nation’s capital. Below, watch the Resident Evil: The Final Chapter trailer. After the last stand at the White House doesn’t work out so great, Alice heads to Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is preparing to wipe out what’s left of the human race.
Returning to the series along with Jovovich are Ali Larter ( Heroes) as Claire Redfield, Iain Glen ( Game of Thrones) as the villainous Dr. Alexander Isaacs, and Shawn Roberts as Albert Wesker. Here’s the Resident Evil: The Final Chapter trailer: Like the Underworld series, this series has dedicated fans who stick around through thick and thin. The franchise, which began with more elements of horror before going full-on action movie mode, is six movies in. By this point, if you want to see how Alice’s journey ends, you’re either genuinely invested or, like some folks, you just get a kick out of watching these often silly, sometimes confounding, and mostly self-aware action movies. Here’s the official synopsis.
Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, humanity is on its last legs in Washington D.C. As the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead hordes, Alice must return to where the nightmare began – Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse. In a race against time Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters. Between regaining her superhuman abilities at Wesker’s hand and Umbrella’s impending attack, this will be Alice’s most difficult adventure as she fights to save humanity, which is on the brink of oblivion. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter opens in theaters on January 27th, 2017.
